With smaller rear wheels than self-propelled models, they're lighter, more compact and easier to fold into a car — making them ideal for appointments, shopping trips, travel days and everyday outings.

Choosing a Transit Wheelchair
Consider the chair's own weight (the carer has to lift it), the user weight capacity, seat width, and features like flip-up armrests and swing-away footrests that make transfers easier. Attendant-operated brakes are a must for safety on slopes.
